I wouldn't consider this a food review. This article's focus is on the review of Broadway, a street in Newport which includes restaurants with good food. But this isn't a food review because it doesn't focus on one particular dish or a particular cheif, it focuses on the restaurants and streets as a whole. Although the article does speak about the different kinds of dishes you can get, it does not focus on particular foods and therefore it is not really a food review.
This isn't a food review. It does talk about resteraunts, but it mainly talks about how resteraunts have just recently sprouted up over the past ten years. The article talks about the variety of resteraunts on the street. So it's more of an article that is telling about resteraunts than actually going into detail about them.
No i would not consider this a food review because it doesn't really specify actual food, it just revolves around the "awesome" resturants on Broadway in Newport and the types of food that are in those resturants. For this to be considered a food review it wouldve had to have SOMETHING about just the foods in the resturants.
After reading this article, in my opinion, this would not be consider a food review. I think that because, it never really talked about the food in the resturants, it only talked about the resturant itself. Also the article talked about the little shops, pubs, and etc. on Broadway, not about the food.
I agree with Emma. They do not focus on one thing, mostly on the review of broadway. If it was the other way around I think it might of been a good review.
The artical about Broadway street in Newport disscussed all the attractions in that area. It mainly highlighted all the restraunts and food places in that neighborhood. This artical desribed how Broadway has a large variety off places to choose from, such as sushi bars, pubs, breakfast places, italian restranuts and more. I wouldnt say this is a food review though. This desirbes a place as a whole and not a specific restraunt.

A few types of dishes are mentioned, but nothing specific. It also lacks a great deal of detail.
I wouldn't consider this a good food review. The writer is reviewing the location more than food. Like Kellyn said, it revolves around teh shops and restaurants on Broadway in Newport.
I agree with Jenna, it lacks detail because it basically just lists places you can go to eat, not really mentioning specific food dishes or what's good to eat there or what's not so good to eat there.

This was definately not a food review. This article was an advertisement to try to get more people to visit Broadway; a street in Newport that appearently has a lot of restaurants. This article does not comment about how people feel about these restaurants, or if the food they serve is any good. This article is simply trying to tell RI that we should go to this street because not a lot of people know about it.

Ususally when I see a food review, it focuses on a particular restaraunt, and perhaps even a particular type of meal from that restaraunt. But this article in particular is about the entire street, and all the spots it brings. This seems like something that would be directed more toward tourists and where they can go.

It barely mentioned food and even focused on some of the stores or other attractions that this street has to offer. The topic is very broad and there is no specification regarding what meal they are talking about. They claim that people should visit this street for not many people do as of now.

Emily and Kaylee made a very valid point when they said that this article seemed more like and advertisment to stroll on Broadway. It seems like an advertisment because not only were mulitiple resaurants but it tried to make others want to go there. For example, the last sentece sound very much like the writer is trying to encourage people to go to Broadway. "Who wouldn’t want to shop, eat or get pretty on a local street as fun as Broadway?" This differs from a review because a review tends to be the truth about a product or weather one likes a product or not and explaining why.

I agree with emma about how a food review should focus on a specific dish. When i read a food review i think of an article that explains how good the dishes are at that resturant and how many people have liked it there. A food review could compare the resturants dishes and it could have quotes from what people thought about the resturants.

She interviews shop owners with how they feel about the street as a whole. The fails to focus on food pertaining to a specific restaraunt. Perhpas if this was to be a food review they could have included things like the service, time it took to get the food, and simply the quality of the food.
I always thought a food review focused on one entre or type of food, giving deatails and opinions on how it tasted. Maybe food reviews can focus on just a restaurant in general or a chef, I always just assumed otherwise.
I agree with Hayley. This article is a persuasive review that convinces tourists to visit Broadway, as they said "tourisits go to Thames Street, locals go to Broadway". This article is a very good review which focuses on exposing and reviewing a local hot spot with unique characterisitics and a quaint atmosphere that now seems definitely worth visiting.
As many others have said, this may be a review, but not for food. This is a review of sights to see in Broadway. The article is simply trying to draw attention to a little place in little Rhode Island.
This article would probably be better for tourisits who are visiting and want an interesting place to visit. The author focuses a lot on the entire place itself.
I also agree with McKenzie when she says this is a good way to get the restaurants name out. This article probably brought a lot of buisness to this street, and hopefully helped the individual buisnesses excell a little more than they already have.
