I think topics that people want to read about are ones that catch their intrest. So it depends for the specific person. Some people are intrested in things worldy, or local. Some people are intrested in topics of articals about things like murders and other crimes. Or about pop culture and famous people. It depends on the persons intrests. Things that people want to read about also can folly the 7 aspects of news. (I like how i can tie that in with this) Those are topics people want to read about.
People want to read about particular events that relate to their life. Not only that but I often think that people want to read about tragedies because it forces them to realize that their lives are just a little bit better than someone else's. Morbid, I know, but I think that's just human nature. People like reading about bad things that happen to other people, but sometimes people like reading about good things too. I know I like reading about some success stories because it encourages me to do better myself, because if they can do it so can I. People also like reading about local things, mainly because it's familiar to them and it's easier to relate to.
Topics people want to read about are topics that catch there train of thought and what interest them. People read books that they can read for hours and sometimes recomend to other people. I think it depends on the person and what interest them. Not everyone likes the same thing.
People are also interested in things that are happening about other people. They want to here the gossip about celebrities. People feel better when they here something bad happened about someone that is better and "more accomplished" then them.
Most people will want to read about an issue that concerns them, or is happening near them or even in their country. If there was an article about the economy in Australia, not many americans would be interested in reading about this article because it is not important to them. However, if you lived in Australia you would be very concerned about the economy because it will effect your way of life.
Many people are atrracted to negitive situations in the media; natural disasters and whatnot. The bigger the disaster and the close proximity, the more attention it usally gets. Examples like, Hurricane Katrina, 9/11 , and the war in Iraq, are all negitive things. These events however, had alot of news coverage, considering they recieved alot of emotional attention from it's readers.
People want to read about things pertainging to themselves or their life. For entertainment purposes, they like to read about famous people because their lives are more interesting.
Like Jordan, I think it depends on the individual person concerning what interests them. People enjoy reading about things that pertain to their interests, and individual personalities. There are a lot of different topics that people can search for topics in. For example, if you were to go to CNN, or Yahoo! News, you will see that there are so many different topics you can go to, like World, National, Politics, Economics. All people are interested in different articles that they would like to read.
I would think that people would want to read about things that interest them. This could be a variety of things depending on the person. Like Jordan said, some people could be interested in political articles while some may not. It all depends on the person's preference. In addition, people want to read controversial issues. This is usually because they cause a reaction and "stir up" the readers. What I mean by this is that it makes the reader pick a side and think about the topic on a deeper level.
I think that people also obviously want to read about things that interest them. It all depends on the person too, and it also depends on how interested they actually are in looking into the topic- some people just like hearing what goes on rather than actually reading about it, but that's just personal opinion.
I think that people want to read about stuff that they like. For instace like if you want to get young girls to read, than you might want to talk about things that they would like. So i agree with what Jordan Scot said.
Most people want to read about stories they can realate to. They want to read about news articles that have something to do with their life wheather it have a dramatic effect on it or not. Obviously, a writer can not write an article that suits everyones likings but by including a diversity of topics may lead to the article becoming more popular.
People want to read about big news weather it be about someone famous or something happening in are world. when the news is to long to read people loose interest. I like to read about things that i can relate to,
I agree with Emma when she says that people are normally interested in articles that affect them or have to do with them. For example, people want to read about things that surround them or deal with an issue related to them. I also agree with Daphne when she says that people want to hear about celebrities or other people and the gossip that involves them. This is because these are the type of things that interest people.
Like Jordan and Armaan, it all depends on the person. Most people are intreasted in news that happens locally, as well as worldy. People are alos intreasted in stuff that relate to them like a hobby or something specfic about them.
Although gossip is also important, it is almsot guarenteed that a reader is going to pick "MASSIVE WAVE HIT NEWENGLAND; WITH LARGE DEATH TOLL" over "Justin Bieber's New Hairstyle"
I think that people also want to know about things that may put them in danger. Things that may full under this category may be hurricanes or tsunamis or earthquakes you know natural disatours.
People want to read about things that interest them. These interests vary from person to person. They include: Sports, politics, news in government, news in arrests and crime, crime fighting, local interests such as communtiy clean ups, community service, and interesting things students may do to help the community.
I feel that people would rather read about things they can relate to, and that they may have done in the past, other than things they can't relate to because they haven't experianced the situation in the past. People also want to read about things that have happend in their area, because they need to know what goes on around them
People want to read about topics that interest them or relate to them somehow. Whether they can connect to the topic they read because of personal reasons or past experiences, anything that is attention grabbing will give them curiosity to read it. Usually people like reading about topics that have occured localy or recently.
I also agree with Emma when she said that people want to read about both success stories as well as tragedies. For example, even though it is not a news article, I like to read books like "A Child Called It." I think seeing the way the characters react to their obsticles is worth reading. However, as Emma stated, success stories also attract attention becasue it can make peoples determination increase.
Most people also like to read about things that they find interesting. Every person is different so if they are interested in sports then they might read a sports book or magazine and if they like mystery then they will read a mystery book or even an unsolved crime article in the news paper.
People like to read about something interesting and somehow pertains to them. If something really big happens, and it is locally, you would probably get excited that right around the corner, something on the news is happening. People also are interested in tragedies, so they always try to find the details of the event.
There are many topics that people would want to read about. Like, the government, jobs, stocks, and current events. Also people would like to read about celebrity news and crimes and/or murders. Another topic that people would read about is local news. People want to be informed about their town and etc.
People who write articles try to talk about things that a large amount of people can connect to and want to read. That is what the aim of the articles is to do. Most of the time, people read about things that connect to themselves, and sometimes they actually have a large effect on them.
Topics that people want to read about depeneds on their age. If they are young they want to read about gossip and stuff. If they are older the news is more important. Also it depends on if their male or female. Men would rather read about sports while women would rather read about fashion.
I disagree with Shelby becasue I don't think that it is almost GUARENTEED that one would pick the title with the wave rather than Justin Bieber. I think that the article that one reads also depends on ones age. In result, for example, kids or teenagers would most likley pick the one about Justin Bieber rather than the one about the wave in which adults or older children may read.
I feel it depends on the person when it comes to the topics they like to read about. However, i feel a lot of people like to read about celebrities. Magazines like "people" are popular because they involve the lives of celbrities!
I agree with mckenzie, it depends on the age of people. Using mckenzies example, Teenagers would rather read about popular people like Justin Bieber while older/ adults would most likely rather read about boring things!
