Do some research on this topic after watching one of the videos-discuss why this is newsworthy (7 elements)
pet dumping is creul, it kills the animals. Its newsworthy because people should know this is happeneing so we can help stop it. It shows proximity because its happening in southern new england. It shows magnitude becasue its important for people to know that people are cruel enough to do this. This shows uniqueness becuase you dont see this happening alot, but its starting to show up more often in southern new england. this shows human intrest because people care about animals and what happens to animals.
This video is news worthy. Pet dumping is when a pet owner apandons his or her animal. It is cruel and negitlectful to the pet.This artical is news worthy because it has the 7 elements of news. It shows human intrest because people are intrested in these kind of things, as cruel as it is. It shows proximity because it is taking place in Rhode island. It shows timelyness since it is happening now. The consequence in this is that the owners of the neglected pet have to face the legal concequences of animal cruelity. Also, it shows prominence and magnitude because it is important to people to prevent this animal curelty. That is why this video is news worthy.
This video is newsworthy becuase it shows what people do to animals and how they lie when someone else finds their pet dumped on the side of the road somewhere. Pet dumping happens everywhere and it should not be happpening. In my opinion cruelty to an animal is just wrong.
I think that pet dumping is a cruel thing to do to animals. The number of animals that are being dumped are going to increase if they dont find out who is doing this to the animals.This Video is newsworthy because it is happening in the same place, and these people that are dumping the animals are getting new pets after dumping the old ones.

This includes human intreast because this catches people's attention and people are really caught by something such as animal cruelty. This also shows proximity because it takes place in Rhode Island. It shows prominece because it has been brought to peoples attetnion and I'm sure they are working on ways to prevent it.
Although the topic of this article is cruel, it's very newsworthy. It exhibits the 7 elements of news. It shows human interest because are concerened for these animals, proximity is shown becuase it takes place here in Rhode Island. The consequence here is that the people behind these have to take responsibility of their actions and face legal charges. It shows magnitude because people see what is happening and the importance. One thing I am not sure about is how to stop it? What would I do?

In response to Armaan's post, i think these people are not brought in, maybe because they have access to things like lawers who will defend their case in court. They also can't really prove it was actully them that dumped the pet, though it useally is.
This article is very newsworthy. How could anyone treat another living thing like that? Its cruel and should be brought to a court to make some kind of punishment for these people. That is the only reason these people aren't being dealt with; there is no firm law that decides what will happen to these people.

This article shows uniqueness and consequence because not only is this epidemic quite unusual, but it has dior consequences, like the fact that some of the animals even die from the neglect and the way their owners had treated them.
