President Obama visited Rhode Island today on the issue of an endorsement for governer Frank Caprio. Obama wanted to stay neutral even though Caprio was a democrate as well as Obama. Later today, Caprio stated his feelings on Obama's endorsement: "he can really shove it". Caprio feels as though Obama did not help RI when there was our flood, and now he feels as though Obama is using us as a "giant ATM". Caprio no longer wants Obama's help anymore, which may or may not potentially cause problems within the government over Caprio's comments.
Obama flew dow to Rhode Island today to go to Providence and Woonsocket. He is not endorsing any campaigns, and that is angering some of the politions running in RI. He is only visiting for simple reasons, mostly just to check up on the state. any people say he has been ignoring us since the flood in March, that cost alot of money in repairs.

I also agree with Halyley's reasons why Barack Obama's visited Rhode Island. This reason being to help replace the retiring rep. Patrick Kennedy. Also my personal opinion on why Barack Obama is visiting Rhode Island is to not only to aid David Cicilline, but to also discuss the problems in the Rhode Island area, such as the economics of our state. In addition, as president,Barack Obama should be exposed to as many places as possible. By visiting a variety of places, he may brainstorm ideas on making the country better as a whole.
